Dave Astles Memorial Cheshire RR Series – Race 2

The 2nd race in the TLI Dave Astles Memorial Cheshire RR Series was held on Tuesday (29/4). Mike Garner rode in the under 40s event with Scott Smith and Stuey Hannah in the 40-54 race.

In the under 40s race Mike Garner successfully broke away from the main bunch on the first lap with Steve Fidler (Dave Hinde cycles). The pair stayed away for the remainder of the race. Steve Fidler won the final sprint with Mike gaining 2nd place. Results can be found here.

In the 40-54 race Scott ended up in a crash and didn’t finish the race. Stuey finished in the bunch.

 

Litherland Circuit League – Race 4

The fourth race in the Litherland circuit league was held on Wednesday (30/4). Results as follows for BNECC members:

  • Max Spedding (PH – MAS Cycling/BNECC honorary member – junior) 4th in the E/1/2 category.
  • Lewis Ball (junior) 13th in the 3/4 category.
  • Dickie Morris 7th in the boys Youth A category.
  • Max Moss 4th in the boys Youth B category.
  • Lizzie McDermott 1st in the girls Youth B category.
  • Connor Larkin 8th in the boys Youth D category.
  • Charlie Byrne 1st in the boys Youth E category.

Litherland Circuit League – round 3

The 3rd round of the Litherland circuit league was held on Wednesday (23/4). A number of BNECC riders raced – results below:

  • Lewis Ball (junior) was 11th in the 3/4 category
  • Dicky Morris was 5th in the boys cat A group.
  • Max Moss 7th in the boys cat B group.
  • Lizzie McDermott 2nd in the girls cat B group.

Stone Wheelers TLI Road Race – Mike Garner 3rd

The Stone Wheelers TLI Road Race was held on Sunday (20/4) at the Swynnerton Circuit. Mike Garner, Steve Molyneux, Stuey Hannah and Scott Smith all rode in the under 50s race. Mike Garner ended up in a break after the first lap. The break stayed away from the main bunch for the remainder of the race. With about five miles to go two riders broke away from the break and stayed away. Will Corden (Lyme road club) won the race. Mike Garner got 3rd place winning the sprint in the remainder of the break group. Steve Molyneux was 8th with Stuey Hannah 19th. Results can be found here.

Litherland Circuit League – Race 1

The first of the Litherland circuit races was held last Wednesday (9/4). Plenty of representatives from the youth section. Results for BNECC competitors were as follows:

  • Max Moss was 6th in the boys youth B race.
  • Louis Johnston was 1st in the youth C boys race.
  • Connor Larkin was 4th in the youth D boys race.
  • Charlie Byrne was 2nd in the youth E boys race.

Youth Tour of Scotland – Nicole Clarke 4th under 14 rider

The following write up is coutesy of Ros Clarke: “Youth Tour of Scotland – just south of Perth: Nicole rode this over 6th 7th and 8th April. It was a stage race for U16 and U14 girls teams. She rode in a composite team, which ended up being called Liverpool North End. The team all rode in BNECC jerseys, thanks to Helen Forbes, Vicky Stinton and Jessica  Wilkinson. First stage was a 40 minute town centre crit in Perth, with very sharp turns, Nicole was 11th out of 40. Later on Sunday they did a short timetrial, Nicole was 23 and dropped to 12th overall. Monday stage 3 was a 30km(1 hour for winner) rolling closed road stage with a climb in each lap. Nicole was 14th and moved back to 11th overall. Stage 4 was a 50 min circuit race, Nicole was 13th and retained her 11th place, she was the 4th U14 rider.”

Club TT league 2014

The following events will be included in this year’s club TT league:

  • BNECC 22 hilly – 18/4
  • Club 10 – 21/5
  • Club 10 -14/6
  • WCTTCA 50 – 8/6
  • WCTTCA 10 – 11/6
  • Club 10 – 18/6
  • Club 10 – 16/7
  • BNECC Open 25 – 27/7
  • WCTTCA 25 – 14/9

The overall league will be based on the best four placings for a rider in the above events (for open events placings will be for BNECC riders only, not all riders in that event). The handicap league will be based on the four club 10 TT events and the BNECC open 25TT in July. The cost of entering will be £12 – this will also cover entry into the four club events. TT league money is to be given to Vicky Stinton or Mike Garner by the next club meeting (14/5/14).
