Club 50TT team record broken

The club 50TT team record was broken on Saturday (3/8) on the A50 in Derby. The previous record was 5.52.01 set back in 1969. On Saturday the combined efforts of Mike Garner (1.49.39), Brad Smith (1.51.15) and Mark Donnelly (1.55.54) set a new club record of 05.36.48. The event itself was won by Matthew Bottrill (Drag Zero) with 1.36.45 – over 4 minutes fastest than Charles Taylor (South Pennine RC) who was second.

BNECC open 25TT results

The BNECC open 25TT was held on Sunday (28/7). Paul Grindley (Liverpool Century) was the winner with a time of 54.40. Hannah MacDonald (Liverpool Century) was fastest lady with 1.00.18. Liverpool Century also took the junior prize (Sean Fawcett with 1.03.04) and the team prize.

Litherland Circuit League round 16 – Max Spedding double win

Round 16 of the Litherland Circuit league was held last Wednesday (24/7/13). Max Spedding was first in the Youth A boys category and first in the 2/3/4/juniors race. Jeff Vernon was 4th in the 2/3/4/juniors race. Louise Colyer 1st girl in the Youth A girls race (only girl). Richard Morris and Danny Harrison 3rd and 4th respectively in the Youth B boys race.

Mersey Roads 24 hour TT

The Mersey Roads club 24 hour TT was held over the weekend (20 & 21/7). John Forbes from the BNECC road the event and achieved a PB of 450 miles. The event was won by by Stuart Birnie (Willesden CC) with 518 miles. Full results can be found here.

BNECC Circuit of Saighton 3/4 Road Race

The BNECC Circuit of Saighton Road Race was held on Sunday (21/7). A high pace was set in this race with a number of breaks. The event was eventually won by Sam Rowlands from Seamons CC in a photo finish with Matthew Cartlidge from the Stone Wheelers CC. Keith Jones was the highest placed Northender finishing 5th.

CDNW Youth League (Round 4) – Salt Ayre

The fourth round of the CDNW Youth League was held at Salt Ayre over the weekend. In the under 16s boys race, Max Spedding was 3rd in race 1 and 4th in race 2. Richard Morris was 17th in the first race of the under 14 boys and 22nd in the second race. Nicloe Clarke was 3rd in the under 12s first race (1st girl) and 4th in the second race (2nd girl). Andrew Clarke competed in the under 8s races and was 6th in the first race and 7th in the second race. Click here for results.
