A number of BNECC youth members raced at Litherland on Wednesday 17th April. Max Spedding and Jack Hulme were 1st and 2nd respectively in the Youth A boys race. Louise Colyer was 1st Youth A girl, Richard Morris 7th in the Youth B boys category and Charlie Byrne 2nd in the Youth E boys race. Full results can be found here.

CDNW Youth league race 1 – 13/04/2013
The first CDNW youth league race was at Victoria Park, Southport on Saturday 13th April. BNECC youth members, Max Spedding, Craig Rogers and Nicole Clarke all rode. Max was 10th and 11th in the Youth A boys category races. Craig was 12th and 13th in the Youth B boys races. While Nicole was 5th and 6th in the Youth C races finishing 2nd girl overall. Three youth members of the BNECC raced at Litherland crit on the 10/04/13. Jack Hulme was 2nd in the Youth A boys category with Louise Coyler 1st Youth A girl. Charlie Byrne was 3rd in the Youth E boys category. Full results can be found here.
BNECC 22 mile TT hilly results

Dolan circuit school races round 2
Round 2 of the Dolan circuit school races was held in Southport on Saturday 16th March. BNECC youth members Nicole Clarke, Danny Harrison and Max Spedding all competed in two races in their age categories. Max was placed 10th and 12th in the Youth A (under 16s) category, Danny 16th and 12th in the Youth B (under 14s) category and Nicole 4th and 3rd in the Youth C (under 12s) races (and also 1st girl in both races). Nicole is currently leading the girls Youth C Dolan series championship.

Dolan circuit school races 1
The first of the Dolan circuit school races was held on Saturday 9th March at Victoria Park in Southport. A number of BNECC youth members raced despite the dismal weather conditions. Nicole Clark competed in the under 12s, Danny Harrison and Alex Forbes in the under 14s and Max Spedding in the under 16s. Nicole produced a couple of great results which meant that she was the 1st under 12 girl. Full results for all events can be found by clicking here.
Welsh Mountain Bike Series 2013 round 2
The 2nd round of the Welsh Mountain Bike Series was held on the 3rd March at Coed Y Brenin. BNECC youth members Nicole Clarke, Rob & Craig Rogers all competed and again acheived some great results. Nicole was 2nd under 12 girl and 6th overall in the under 12s category. Craig was 3rd in the Juvenille male race and his brother Rob also 3rd in the Junior mens race.

Hot Pot Supper and Race Night
“We are proposing to hold our annual Youth Section fund raiser shortly, a Hot Pot Supper and Race Night to which adults and youngsters are invited. It will be held on Friday 19th April at the Wirral Rugby Club near Thornton Hough at 7pm. Last year we raised over a thousand pounds which was spent on funding events, sponsorship for riders, insurance, and maintenance for the stock of bikes we hold.
We have tickets available at a price of £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for under 16s, including the hot pot supper. Please invite family and friends, we can cater for about 100 so please let Geoff know asap how many you would like.
As well as tickets we sell the 8 races at £25 each so you can name the race eg “The Clan Contracting Handicap”, plus horses at £5 each, there are 8 per race, so you get to name the horse and take home a bottle of wine if it wins its race. Please let Geoff know if you can sell your boss/ publican/ butcher a race, and your work mates a horse each. All in a good cause.
At the moment we anticipate that tickets will initially be held by Gary Bateman, Annie Smith, John Simpson and Geoff Brandtf. If you can sell a horse or two please let Geoff know.
We will be holding an organising meeting on Monday evening (4th March) at the 7 Stars in Thornton Hough at 7pm to chat about it all. The venue, the FunRace Co and the food are all booked, we just need to put bums on seats, so if you feel you could sell tickets, horses or races please come along on Monday.
